Celebrating Frederick Douglass

February 1 @ 9:00 am - February 25 @ 4:00 pm

The Cathedral joins the nation in celebrating Black History Month this February with a display paying tribute to Frederick Douglass, the former slave, abolitionist, writer and statesman on his 200th birthday.  View the display during Cathedral hours, Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m.-noon, or on Sunday when attending services.

On February 21 the church continued paying tribute to Frederick Douglass by reading a copy of his Letter to His Old Master: “To My Old master, Thomas Auld” during the service. Listen to the reading or read a copy of the letter.
