Celebrating 150 Years
November 19 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
There will be one service this Sunday, Nov. 19, at 10 a.m., as we gather to celebrate the 150th anniversary of our beautiful sacred space and the vitality of our longstanding congregation.
We will mark this blessed occasion in worship with our Bishop, The Rt. Rev. George Wayne Smith, a festival procession and awesome music. We will pray a few portions of the service that would have been used in 1867 (from the 1845 Standard Book of Common Prayer) along with our most current authorized form from Enriching Our Worship.
The service will be followed by a Chat N’ Chew in the Nave with Esley Hamilton, historian and preservationist, as guest speaker. As always with Chat N’ Chew, the Cathedral will provide chicken and cake, and we ask that everyone bring side dishes.
It is difficult to imagine downtown St. Louis without the Christ Church Cathedral building sitting with grace on the corner of Locust and 13th streets, calling all to worship together in a blessed community of welcome and diversity and the community going forth from this building to do the just and caring work of the Gospel.
Don’t miss this special celebration in the life of our congregation. Mark your calendars, bring friends and come celebrate what the Lord has done and continues to do in this place.
