20s & 30s Group
The 20s & 30s Group was formed in Spring 2013 to give those in their 20s and 30s a chance to meet and share a faith experience with other young adults in the congregation. The group has regular monthly gatherings as well as special one-time events that range from purely social affairs to faith-focused activities.
The Sunday Brunch is a social event that takes place on the third Sunday of each month. At the end of the 10 a.m. service, anyone who’s interested in going out for brunch will meet at the back of the Cathedral. We pick a restaurant, get a table, and enjoy one another’s company.
“Theology on Tap” is a monthly event where those in their 20s and 30s from inside and outside Christ Church Cathedral gather for good food, good beer, and good conversation. Theology on Tap seeks to create a “low pressure” environment for conversations about faith, ethics, politics, and life today. Join us the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Dressel’s Public House restaurant in the Central West End.
December brings our Advent party as a way to get together and celebrate the season.
Past Special Events
In October 2013 and November 2014, we held our annual overnight Fall Retreat. This retreat provides a time of prayer, reflection, and quiet contemplation of one’s own faith in the company of others who are in the same stage of life and exploring similar questions.
The 20s & 30s Group has volunteered to help with some activities around the Cathedral. In Fall 2014, we manned the grill for the Congregational Picnic. In Summer 2013, we spent an afternoon volunteering to help the Lafayette Preparatory Academy get ready for the new school year by preparing and painting some of the classrooms. Earlier that year, in the spring, we participated in the Homeless Walk put on by The Bridge to learn more about homelessness in downtown St. Louis.
