Christ Church Cathedral has a rich and varied worship program that reflects the diversity of our congregation and our faith community.


On Sundays
Holy Eucharist, Rite I, 8 a.m.
Choral Eucharist, Rite II, 10 a.m.

At 8 a.m., we use the majestic language of the traditional Rite I liturgy found in The Book of Common Prayer. Worshipers at the 8 a.m. service appreciate the quiet, meditative atmosphere and the emphasis upon the poetry of the spoken word.

The 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist includes music. The first and third Sundays of each month, the Eucharistic prayer will be sung, and Communion will be administered from the high altar.  The second, fourth and fifth Sundays of the month, the Eucharistic prayer will be said, and Communion will be administered in stations.  Each week, ushers will guide you to the appropriate place for Communion.

On the fourth Sunday, the Cathedral Choir will share choral music in the African-American tradition.

The 10 a.m. Sunday Service Is Special for Children and Youth
After the Opening Procession and during the Gloria, children and youth are invited to participate in a Liturgy of the Word in Bofinger Chapel.  This liturgy, designed for young people, is led by a “Storyteller” and accompanied by an adult “Shepherd” to help direct the group.

Look for the Verger, who will stand in the center aisle and lead any interested young people to the Chapel.  At the Peace, all children and youth will rejoin the Cathedral family in the Nave.

Fellowship on Sundays
Following 10 a.m. worship, we invite you to join us for coffee, lemonade and refreshments in the south aisle of the Cathedral, near the interior entrance to Bofinger Chapel.

Christian Education on Sundays
Church School (fall and spring) and Adult Education will take place at a time to be announced.  For additional information, go to the Christian Education page on this site.


Weekday and Saturday Worship Schedule
Weekday Noonday Prayer Services, Bofinger Chapel, at 12:10 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Wednesday Holy Eucharist at 7 a.m., Bofinger Chapel, for those wanting to attend a brief service (25 to 30 minutes) before going to work

Saturday Morning Prayer (8:30 a.m.) in Bofinger Chapel

Evensong (5 p.m.): Fourth Sunday of every month, September through May

Taizé Service (5 p.m.): Second Sunday of every month in Chapel (simple chants, music and silent reflection), September through June

Seasonal Worship Services: Advent Lessons and Carols; Holy Week preceding Easter; special diocesan baptisms and confirmations; Flower Festival in May; Blessing of the Animals, first Sunday in October; and Healing Prayers.
