Art & Soul Café is a spiritual community in downtown St. Louis for those who want to spend an evening of discovering and exploring the divine within, around and between us. We invite you to experience the spiritual through art, music, poetry, movement, reflection and conversation. Evenings have ranged from drumming to shape singing.
Here's the latest news...
In December 2007, all who experienced the evening with Mary Oliver at Art & Soul Café know it was a resounding success. We are grateful not only to those who attended—many of whom were our faithful regulars, many more of whom were experiencing Art & Soul Café for the first time—but also to those who have supported our mission from the outset by contributing their time, talents and enormous energies.
At this time, Art & Soul Café is on hiatus so we can continue to develop and present successful major events such as Paul Winter’s
Missa Gaia and the Mary Oliver poetry reading and book-signing, as well as create additional opportunities to fulfill our mission of “exploring the divine through the arts.” To do so means exploring funding options that will meet the costs of such ambitious programming. In addition, we are initiating partnerships with other arts and religious organizations throughout the region to enhance our reach and appeal to the community. Finally, we are seeking new board members to take the place of those scheduled to retire.
We welcome and value your feedback on these endeavors—and we ask for your help, too. If you know of a foundation we should contact about funding, let us know. Or if you are interested in serving on our board (or know someone else with such an interest), please tell us. The person to contact is Lydia Ruffin at
slruffin@gmail.com.
