Music
In addition to our own Cathedral Choir, our services feature congregational singing and musical offerings by our members and by guests, both professionals and gifted amateurs. Other musical events include a monthly Choral Evensong, seasonal concerts, and the Shepley Program of Music and Arts concert series.
Cathedral Choir
Our extraordinary Cathedral choir sings the Choral Eucharist on Sundays at 10 a.m. under the direction of Canon Precentor William “Pat” Partridge, organist and choirmaster. The choir performs at Evensong, at the great celebrations of the liturgical calendar and at special Diocesan services.
The choir practices on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. Its members include professional sectional leaders as well as volunteers, each of whom has considerable musical background and training. If you would like to become a choir member, please fill out the form below or contact Canon Precentor Partridge at 314-255-1634.
Shepley Concert Series
Canon Precentor William “Pat” Partridge shepherds a series of free classical concerts by outstanding local, national and international musicians, presented at the Cathedral every fall and spring. The program, named for a family that served the Cathedral for more than 50 years, is supported by the Regional Arts Commission and private donations. In addition, at 5 p.m. every fourth Sunday from September through May, we offer Choral Evensong, a candlelit musical service that originated in the Church of England hundreds of years ago. Continue on to the Shepley Concert Series’web page.
